Fractional CFO
Every entrepreneur would benefit from having a seasoned financial executive on their team. Entrepreneurs and CPA’s have different but complimentary skill sets and together they can create a formidable combination. The best entrepreneurs and CEO’s are constantly focused on their businesses and often feel like they are thinking about their business even when they eat, drink and sleep. What they usually want to delegate and confidently know is being handled professionally are the back office functions. One CEO with whom I have worked for twenty-six years once said to me, “I had a nightmare last night. I dreamt I had your job.”
That’s where I come in – to eliminate the nightmares.
In my thirty-five years of professional work experience, I have always worked with entrepreneurs. Oftentimes I have been involved with the same ones through multiple companies in several different industries over periods as long as thirty years. The common theme is always that the entrepreneur has or is creating a business and he wants sound financial management from an experienced and trusted advisor. Personally, I have never aspired to be the CEO of a company but instead my goal is to be the best Number 2 person supporting the CEO’s and making sure they are successful in their business.
As an experienced Chief Financial Officer (“CFO”) and a Certified Public Accountant (“CPA”), I have a unique way of looking at business issues and efficiently managing or administering the back office functions. I can get to the heart of the matter quickly and offer solutions that will work and address or prevent problems. Our engagements are usually ongoing with specific functions or expectations being performed each week or each month with most clients needing 8-12 hours per month. Other clients might need 20-30 hours on a specific, short-duration project and then not need anything for months.
In either scenario it inevitably occurs that someone has a “quick question”. It might just take a couple of minutes to respond to them or it might turn into something more involved, but our clients are grateful that they have someone they can quickly contact that knows them and their business and can provide invaluable advice at a moment’s notice.
